Reel Fathers Rights believes in helping fathers and children overcome bias found in the family law circuit. Beginning this year, the fathers rights and divorce lawyers in Los Angeles want to extend a helping hand to fathers, children, and qualifying students who’ve witnessed the injustices that Reel Fathers Rights fights back against.
The Fathers’ Advocacy Scholarship promises $2,500 to a qualifying student pursuing their dreams of higher education. Students have until May 15, 2026, to complete an essay going into detail about their experience within the family law circuit.

Scholarship Essay Topic
If you want to apply for The Fathers’ Advocacy Scholarship, the scholarship selection committee asks you to complete a 500- to 1,000-word essay that shares a story about how you or someone you know experienced a challenge in family law related to fathers’ rights.
For example, if you or someone you know has experience with parental alienation, establishing paternity, child support deliberations, custody deliberations, and/or biased court procedures, you can write about those experiences in your essay.
The committee also wants you to reflect on what you learned from your experience with the family law circuit and how it shaped your understanding of fairness and/or justice. You should also propose at least one change in policy, law, social norms, or community action that could help ensure that fathers are treated more equitably in the family law circuit.
Tips for Writing Your Scholarship Essay
When drafting your essay for the Fathers’ Advocacy Scholarship, the scholarship selection committee invites you to consider:

- Any advocacy or leadership you undertook (formally or informally)

- What your vision is for an ideal family law system (locally, nationally, or globally)
You should also make sure that your essay has an original, catchy title and includes a bibliography and citations, as appropriate. Once you complete your essay, please save it as a PDF using the following naming convention: “[Scholarship Name and Year] – [Student Name].”
