The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization certifies him as a Family Law Specialist. He earned the certification in 2018 and recertified in 2024.
The certification is not granted on request. An attorney who wants to specialize under the program must pass a comprehensive written examination administered by the State Bar. He must document substantial trial and settlement experience across the full range of family law proceedings and meet a continuing education minimum in the field. He must also submit favorable references from judges and from the attorneys who have opposed him in court.
