Jonathan Tung is a Senior Trial Attorney at Reel Fathers Rights and a fathers rights attorney serving men across seven California counties from the firm’s San Jose office. His experience in Dependency court has also underscored for him the vital role that fathers play in their childrens’ lives particularly in the current world we live in filled with relentless social media bombardment, rampant drug use, and high conflict parental engagement.

Allegations of abuse and misconduct are raised in contested custody matters, often at the moment they will do the most damage. A father can lose access to his children on a temporary order entered before he has said a word in his own defense, and that order can remain in place for weeks while the hearing is set.

Santa Clara County. Family Justice Center Courthouse, 201 North First Street, San Jose. This is the county’s dedicated family law venue and the only Santa Clara County courthouse that hears family law. Serving San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Cupertino, Campbell, Los Gatos, Milpitas, Morgan Hill, and Gilroy.

Santa Cruz County. Watsonville Courthouse, 1 Second Street, Watsonville. The Family Law Division sits here, and all restraining order requests in the county are filed and heard at this location. Serving Santa Cruz, Watsonville, Scotts Valley, Capitola, and Aptos.

San Mateo County. Hall of Justice and Records, Southern Branch, 400 County Center, Redwood City. The county’s family law division operates from this branch. Serving Redwood City, San Mateo, Daly City, South San Francisco, San Bruno, Menlo Park, Burlingame, and Half Moon Bay.

San Francisco County. Civic Center Courthouse, 400 McAllister Street, San Francisco. San Francisco’s Unified Family Court handles dissolution, custody, and domestic violence restraining order matters from this single location.

Alameda County. Hayward Hall of Justice, 24405 Amador Street, Hayward. Every document filed in an Alameda County family law case must be presented here, and the county’s family law departments sit at this courthouse. Domestic violence protective order documents may also be filed at the René C. Davidson Courthouse, 1225 Fallon Street, Oakland. Serving Oakland, Fremont, Hayward, Berkeley, Alameda, San Leandro, Union City, Newark, Dublin, Pleasanton, and Livermore.

Contra Costa County. Peter L. Spinetta Family Law Center, 751 Pine Street, Martinez, which houses five of the county’s seven family law courtrooms and is where all domestic violence restraining order requests must be filed. Family law matters are also heard at the Richard E. Arnason Justice Center, 1000 Center Drive, Pittsburg. Serving Concord, Walnut Creek, Richmond, Antioch, Pittsburg, Martinez, Brentwood, San Ramon, and Danville.

Stanislaus County. Stanislaus County Main Courthouse, 800 11th Street, Modesto, with the Family Law Clerk’s Office at the I Street entrance. Serving Modesto, Turlock, Ceres, Oakdale, Riverbank, and Patterson.
