
Thomas Chapin
Experience: Thomas previously served as Lead Counsel for Humboldt County Counsel, handling high-stakes civil litigation in both Federal and State courts. He represented county agencies, including the Public Guardian and Environmental Health, in guardianships, conservatorships, receiverships, writs, and administrative hearings involving code violations, particularly cannabis-related issues. He also advised municipal agencies by drafting contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing public records requests and subpoenas.
Before his public sector role, Thomas had a strong background in private practice, representing clients in criminal and civil matters. His criminal defense work included serious cases such as murder, robbery, domestic violence, burglary, and DUI. In family law, he has prosecuted and defended cases involving domestic violence, custody disputes, and support issues. His civil litigation experience spans personal injury, real estate disputes, and business-related cases across industries such as aerospace, entertainment, and retail.
Role At Reel Fathers Rights: Since joining Reel Fathers Rights, Thomas has built his reputation as a dedicated champion for fathers’ rights. He represents men and fathers in Family Courts throughout California, handling complex family law matters with skill and tenacity.
